ALPHA release July 23, 2024. Follow this site for progress updates. This is a fully decentralized eCommerce application. Peer to peer free market sharing of goods and services and peer to peer transactions. This is an ALPHA release. We will open a place to report bugs so they can be worked on.
There are a lot of tabs that both control your store contracts, items for sale and shopping cart order contracts. The focus of ALPHA is not to be pretty. The focus is to have a front end that is managing multiple contracts. In the ALPHA release the response from transaction IDs will be left in the application. For those who are not familiar with blockchain this will probably be a bit confusing but its necessary for easier debugging and a blockchain confirmation of everything you do on the app. The intention will be to remove a lot of this in the future to make the app look a lot cleaner and make you feel like your not using a blockchain. The design is scalable but that will depend on how much data a contract can really hold. Right now the goal was to get all the tabs working and offer a truly decentralized market application. We will consider a re-organization of the look and feel when things are stable.
Contracts are owned by the wallet creators. Yes this software will deploy your own contracts and give you full decentralized control of your store. There is a feature built in to keep track of all the stores that have been created. When these contracts are deployed no one can fool with, manipulate or block your store unless they get your wallet private key. Only the store owner can read who the orders are for. All order information is encrypted they are not readable by the public. Only items in your store are readable by the public.
Why only an app? That is an easy one. Because apps are not susceptible to blocks and manipulation. Web browsers will and can block content. Users and developers have a lot less control. They force and push updates which could contain blacklists or may break the application. A dedicated app that talks directly to the DERO blockchain is the only way to go when writing fully decentralized applications and believe it or not a wallet or encryption keys on a mobile device is a lot more secure than on a PC.
First release will be ALPHA. Unfortunately no images on the first release. We have some ideas on how to implement images but what we have done is placed a web link for each product. You can place a centralized or decentralized web link for each product. It can contain more detailed descriptions or images. It is recommended to use IPFS links.
